The Blue Economy Conference at Sealogy – “A new approach for a sustainable Blue Economy”, organized by the European Commission at Ferrara, Italy, was held on 18-20 November.
Enaleia participated as an exhibitor all three days of the Conference, having the chance for fruitful discussions with the rest of the attendees. Also, the Head of Policy & Finance of Enaleia, Mr. Nikos Therapos, had the opportunity to participate as a speaker in a panel discussion with the topic: “Blue knowledge, skills and innovation for a sustainable blue economy”. During his intervention, he had the opportunity to highlight the importance of the development of skills and capacities for sea users to tackle marine-related climate challenges, showcasing the work of Enaleia.
Another panel discussion that we had the opportunity to participate in was themed “Guardian of the sea: cooperation and active participation strategies in the circular economy”. During the discussion, we had the opportunity to discuss the role of fisheries in tackling marine plastic pollution and demonstrate holistic approaches for solutions that include circular economy tools.
Special thanks to Massimo Bellavista for the invitation and hospitality.
